- Air exchangers (HRVs) usually have a grey box with ducting coming out of it, plus white, round covers in the ceiling.
- Forced-air furnaces and ducted heat pumps blow warm air from vents, usually in the floor or the basement ceiling.
- Mini splits blow warm or cool air from a unit mounted on the wall.
